HVAC Products

As we head towards the end of another year, it may be a good time to pause and reflect on the last year and some of the great 2023 HVAC Products from our suppliers.

iSMA Controlli

iSMA Controlli have released some great new products this year as well as updating some old favourites.

From their new product range the MAC36PRO is a family of next-generation Master Application Controllers. This advanced iteration boasts a powerful update with a Quad-Core 1.6 GHz processor, doubled RAM and storage capacity, and an extremely powerful visualisation system with HDMI and USB support.

For data and process viewing, the range of PA-LED PoE enabled Android panels were released. The new 10.1” and 13.3” LCD room panels with a LED bar are a versatile and customizable solution for residential and commercial buildings, featuring: Android 11 operating system, PoE+ power supply, and LED customizable light bar over Rest API.

Two pieces of software came to us this year, the iC Connect, an all-in-one Client Platform for Windows and the iC SmartView which is a new app for the iSMA-D-PA and PA-LED Android panels.

iSMA CONTROLLI released its Hook Up kit. A set of hydraulic elements assembled and tested, that allow for direct connection of the FCU with the building’s chilled water or hot water installation. The kits include a factory-assembled set of valves and the accessories to reduce installation and commissioning time.

The news came that the range of FCU Controllers were updated with ModBus and BACnet improvements; three  additional BACnet properties that allow to read counted error frames and compare them with all BACnet frames.

The nano EDGE ENGINE and the iC Tool were both updated to v1.4.

Upgrades to the MVE-2-RS series multiprotocol network actuators dedicated to PICVs were upgraded allowing direct temperature monitoring and control. These together with the Libra PICV MVE-2-RS series create a unique energy calculation solution for heating or cooling coils in air handling units.

Greystone Energy Systems Inc.

Greystone Energy Systems Inc brought out their new IAQRM SERIES indoor air quality monitor which  monitors up to 6 parameters that include Particulate Matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM4 & PM10), Volatile Organic Compounds, Carbon Dioxide, Formaldehyde, Humidity & Temperature and provide either a BACnet® or Modbus signal for connection to a building automation system.

The IAQ features field replaceable sensor modules, a full-colour capacitive touch screen LCD that’s user configurable, a configurable alarm relay output. All this housed in a new modern, quick mount enclosure.

HK Instruments

HK Instruments released the AVT Air Velocity Transmitter. The AVT is used for monitoring air velocity and temperature in ducts. The built-in PID controller also enables the control of constant air velocity and there is an optional relay for external device control, for example alarms. Commissioning of the device is easy with jumpers or pushbuttons and display menu, and there are field selectable options for range and output settings. The measurements can be read via analog outputs or Modbus and are also shown on the clear backlit display.

Danfoss

SonoSelect meters from Danfoss are compact ultrasonic meters for measuring energy consumption in heating, cooling and combined heating/cooling applications designed primarily for use in residential buildings.

One of its key features is that all its advanced functionality can also be controlled via smartphone using the innovative SonoApp

Complex functions can easily be programmed and routine adjustments have been made faster to access and simpler to carry out. The high level of usability reduces errors and ensures minimised installation time.

Tridium Niagara

Last but not least, Tridium announced the release of the much-anticipated Jace-9000 next generation evolution of Niagara hardware.

With increased performance and capacity to leverage tagging, templating and visualisation and a Quad Core processor with double the amount of RAM and storage which gives faster start up and station load times, but with exactly the same footprint and wiring locations as the JACE 8000, it allows for seamless replacement for future updates and fully compatible with all existing expansion modules.
